Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Assembler II to join its Brea, CA team! The Assembler II role is an experienced position responsible for performing more complex PCB assembly tasks, including working with detailed work instructions, interpreting technical drawings, and using specialized tools and equipment. This role involves assembling and inspecting circuit board components, performing basic troubleshooting, and ensuring all work meets quality and IPC standards. Success in this position requires advanced manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, solid understanding of PCB assembly processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast‑paced production environment.

Responsibilities of the Assembler II: 

  • Set up andoperateautomated and manual prep equipment within the department.
  • Insert and install thru‑hole componentsincluding capacitors, resistors, ICs, and connectorsper work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools to support thru‑hole assembly and minor part‑fitting operations such as filing or crimping.
  • De‑panel individual circuit boards from arrays asrequired.
  • Create and apply labels, including serial numbers and revision identifiers, according to work instructions.
  • Perform high‑volume, routine, and repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet internal standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications of the Assembler II:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4yearsof assembly experience (manufacturing or assembly environment)
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate strong manual dexterity for handling small components and performing precision assembly tasks.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools and specialized assembly equipment
  • IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certification preferred but not required. Work under the guidance of senior personnel and participate in ongoing training to develop proficiency in the functional area.

Schedule & Budgeted Hours
Second Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Paid Hours Per Day: 8 hours (includes one 30‑minute unpaid meal break).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
Breaks

Meal Break (Second Shift): One 30‑minute unpaid meal break, typically scheduled between 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
Rest Breaks: Two paid 10‑minute rest breaks per shift, in compliance with California labor law.
Budgeted Hours
Budgeted Weekly Hours: 40 hours (5 shifts Ă— 8 hours).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
