Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is based on‑site and requires four days per week in the Brea office to support collaboration and business needs.
The Manager, IT ERP – SAP Manufacturing serves as Envista's senior functional authority for SAP Production Planning (PP), Plant Maintenance (PM), and Master Data Governance (MDG) within the Plan to Deliver process chain. The role translates complex business, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements into solution direction across a global, multi-brand, multi-site manufacturing environment.
This role provides functional governance rather than hands-on configuration, directing the Managed Service Provider (MSP), reviewing and approving functional designs and validation artifacts, setting priorities, and holding delivery partners accountable for quality, compliance, and service performance.
The position partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, and IT stakeholders to strengthen process harmonization, master data integrity, audit readiness, and regulated change control while advancing the manufacturing P2D roadmap and S/4HANA transformation.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAP Manufacturing Functional Governance
Serve as the primary internal functional authority across PP, PM, and MDG, translating business and regulatory requirements into functional specifications and solution direction for MSP development and configuration teams
Review, validate, and approve functional designs, configuration documents, test scripts, validation documentation, and solution proposals produced by the MSP
Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, and fit-gap assessments for business change requests and project initiatives affecting PP, PM, and MDG
Govern PP processes including demand management, MRP execution, production order management, routing and work center design, capacity planning, shop floor control, goods issue to production, and batch management
Govern PM processes including functional location structures, equipment master management, preventive maintenance planning, maintenance order execution, maintenance BOMs, and work order costing
Own and evolve the MDG governance framework for material, vendor, and customer master data, defining ownership, stewardship workflows, change request management, and data quality standards across brands.
Govern integration between PP, PM, MDG, and adjacent modules including MM, QM, CO, and SD to maintain controlled cross-module processes, master data consistency, and document flows.
MSP Governance & AMS Oversight
Act as the functional escalation authority for PP, PM, and MDG incidents, enhancements, and projects, directing the MSP on resolution approach, solution design, and acceptance criteria
Set priorities for MSP resources within the manufacturing domain, review work outputs, and enforce quality, compliance, delivery, and service-level standards.
Lead regular governance reviews with the MSP, address service or quality gaps, and escalate delivery risks as appropriate
Oversee user acceptance testing and sign-off for PP, PM, and MDG system changes before deployment
Drive continuous improvement across production schedule adherence, MRP exception reduction, maintenance plan effectiveness, and master data quality
Roadmap & Landscape Rationalization
Define and maintain the manufacturing P2D functional roadmap aligned with operational and digital strategy, prioritizing harmonization, regulatory alignment, and capability improvements across manufacturing sites
Represent the manufacturing P2D workstream across PP, PM, and MDG in S/4HANA rollout and enhancement initiatives from blueprint through hypercare
Support acquisition integration by assessing acquired manufacturing-site SAP configurations and directing harmonization into the Envista landscape
Drive cross-site and cross-brand standardization by identifying configuration inconsistencies and directing scalable improvements through the MSP
Partner with Supply Chain P2D and Order to Cash functional SMEs to support end-to-end process alignment
Develop and maintain process designs, business requirements, functional specifications, validation artifacts, and training materials
Mentor business analysts and junior functional resources supporting the manufacturing domain
GxP, Controls & Audit Readiness
Ensure PP, PM, and MDG process changes comply with GxP validation requirements, EU MDR, UDI, and Envista quality management and change control standards
Maintain disciplined change management, including change freezes around audit periods and validation windows, and ensure complete, audit-ready evidence for manufacturing-impacting system changes
Partner with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and IT Compliance to ensure manufacturing system changes are appropriately validated and documented before deployment
Ensure MDG stewardship processes protect the integrity of regulated master data, including material classification, batch characteristics, and regulated product attributes
Partner with Internal Audit on walkthroughs, control testing, remediation activities, and internal and external audit readiness across PP, PM, and MDG
