Position Summary:
- The SCM Operations Excellence Sr. Manager is a strategic and execution-focused leader responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain operational excellence across Samyang America’s U.S. business. This role leads the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of SCM processes — spanning demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment — with a sharp focus on cost efficiency, service level performance, and scalable operations. The position serves as the internal champion for Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and data-driven decision-making, building a culture of continuous improvement across the supply chain organization. The ideal candidate combines deep SCM expertise with hands-on process improvement leadership, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Finance, Marketing, and external 3PL partners in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:Â
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria for SCM improvement initiatives: develop detailed project charters, work breakdown structures (WBS), and milestone plans in alignment with business priorities; secure stakeholder sign-off and maintain clear accountability across project phases from initiation through close-out.
- Manage a concurrent portfolio of SCM projects spanning process improvement, systems implementation, 3PL transitions, and network optimization: maintain project roadmaps, track deliverables against timelines and budgets, proactively surface risks and issues, and report portfolio status to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
- Lead cross-functional project teams across Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and IT: define roles and responsibilities, facilitate structured project meetings and working sessions, resolve blockers, and hold team members accountable to commitments without direct authority.
- Establish and manage project governance structures: define decision-making frameworks, escalation paths, and RACI matrices for each initiative; conduct stage-gate reviews to validate that projects remain on track against scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets before proceeding to the next phase.
- Drive project risk identification and mitigation planning: maintain a living risk register for each active initiative, assess probability and impact, develop mitigation and contingency actions, and proactively communicate risk exposure to project sponsors and senior stakeholders.
- Own change management and stakeholder communication for each project: develop communication plans tailored to different audience levels (executive, functional, operational); manage organizational readiness, resistance, and adoption; and ensure that project outcomes are embedded into day-to-day operations through documented SOPs and training.
- Track and report project value realization: define measurable success metrics (cost savings, OTIF improvement, cycle time reduction, inventory efficiency) at project kick-off; conduct post-implementation reviews to validate actual vs. projected benefits; and build a lessons-learned repository to continuously improve project execution standards across the SCM function.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 10-12 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations or operational excellence, with at least 5 years in a manager leadership role overseeing cross-functional improvement programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S); Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of designing and owning SCM KPI frameworks (OTIF, fill rate, inventory turns, freight cost per unit) and translating data insights into executive-level reporting; proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, WMS, TMS, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Strong change management and stakeholder influence skills; proven ability to drive organizational adoption of new processes, tools, and operating standards across cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, and Marketing.
- Experience in food & beverage, or CPG industry highly preferred; familiarity with U.S. retail distribution landscape (Walmart, Target, Whole Foods, Costco, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to present complex operational concepts clearly to senior leadership; Korean proficiency is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications: (OPTIONAL)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) or APICS CSCP/CPIM certification; PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience with S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process design and cross-functional demand/supply alignment in a high-SKU, fast-growth environment.
- Prior experience leading SCM digital transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP implementation, automation, AI-driven forecasting tools) or supply chain network optimization projects.
