Stephens Memorial Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to work on a PRN or as needed basis.Â
Position Summary: The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammographic imaging procedures to support the early detection and diagnosis of breast conditions. This role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards such as ACR and MQSA guidelines. As a key member of the healthcare team, the technologist collaborates with radiologists and other professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic services, contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties: Â
- Perform mammography procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedure.
- Maintain and operate mammography equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
- Document patient information and imaging results accurately in the medical records system.
- Assist in the education of patients regarding breast health and the importance of regular screenings.
 Position Requirements Â
- High School graduate or equivalent Â
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program
- Current Texas Radiology Certification and current BLS Certification.
- Current ARRT certification in Mammography Â

 Work Environment: Regularly exposed to toxic/caustic chemicals, hazardous materials and waste; frequently works near moving mechanical parts, is exposed to wet, humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electric shock or vibration. This position is classified as an OSHA category 1 position: exposed to a specific hazard as a regular part of the job.
