Stephens Memorial Hospital is seeking to hire 3 full-time Registered Nurses for the Emergency Department to work night shift.Â
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus.Â
Position Summary: Â
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high standards of nursing care to ill, injured convalescent or disabled patients in the Emergency Department. The RN works as part of SMH’s healthcare team and is responsible for assessing patient needs, planning and modifying care, and implementing interventions.  The RN is assigned to a primary nursing unit, but may be asked to work in any other nursing unit based on the needs of those departments and the patient population and is expected to function according to the Registered Nurse scope in each department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.Â
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Texas Board of Nursing. Â
- 1-2 years of hospital nursing experience preferred. Â
- Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining Basic Life Support (CPR-Healthcare Provider) certification within 30 days of hire. Â
- Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Full-time employee or PRN or Agency employee with primary department of ED is responsible for obtaining and maintaining Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire. Â TNCC is preferred for PRN or Agency employee with other primary department.
