Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Prep Cook to join our Courtyard Cafe team for the 7:30am-3pm shift. Job responsibilities include prepping and cooking from "scratch" recipes. Candidate must ensure all ingredients are prepped and cooked by strictly following recipes. This position is individuals who are passionate about their craft, and have a keen interest in making good food happen. You will contribute to creating delicious meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Duties

  • Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
  • Perform meal preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
  • Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing work areas.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the food service or culinary field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation techniques is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of food handling practices and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about culinary arts is essential.
