We are currently hiring Brewing Operators at the Samuel Adams Brewery in  Breinigsville, PA

Brew Operators play a critical role in crafting world‑class beverages for The Boston Beer Company. This position is responsible for the successful execution of brew, ferment, filtration, and blend processes and operations. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and previous experience working in industrial manufacturing. Previous brewing experience is not required. 

 
Schedule:
 

Current openings: night shift, 5:35 PM-5:50AM. 

We operate on a 4-week rotation schedule to ensure 24/7 brewing coverage. Brewing Operators alternate between 3-day and 4-day workweeks. Candidates must be available for both rotations:

  • Crews work the front half of the week for 4 weeks (Sunday–Tuesday & alternating Wednesdays).
  • Then rotate to the back half of the week for 4 weeks (Thursday–Saturday & alternating Wednesdays).

 

What You'll Brew: 

  • Execute brew, ferment, filtration, and blend operations in observation of all department/brewery procedures. 
  • Monitor, record, and troubleshoot supply line temperature, flow, and operation. 
  • Make equipment and product changeovers; using tools as needed. 
  • Complete accurate and timely entry of inventory records within the ERP system at the point of use, including all materials, ingredients, and in-process products. Troubleshoot and escalate any inventory discrepancies with the appropriate group.  
  • Unload material for Brewing and Blending processes. This requires the use of rail cars, trucks, totes, drums, pallets, etc.  
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and make recommendations to the process.
  • Perform Quality checks, testing and complete paperwork as required. 
  • Perform work and cleaning in confined space areas
  • Operate forklifts as required
  • Fulfil sanitation duties. Requires the use of foaming equipment, hoses, brooms, shovels, brushes, scrapers, squeegees, and sanitation chemicals. 
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a “Safety-First” approach. 
  • Assist other operators and departments in training, repair work and equipment operation as needed.
  • Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs. This may include 12-hour days, nights, weekends, and holidays.  

 

What Ingredients you'll bring: 


 Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability, especially involving manufacturing processes and operations 
  • Previous experience in brewing, distilling, and/or CPG manufacturing (preferred but not required)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Collaborative team player  
  • Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a “get-it-done, can-do” attitude.  
  • Proficient with Computer systems, including MS Outlook. Must be able to learn and accurately utilize the brewery operation system.  
  • Must be available to support shift (8 or 12 hours), weekend, and holiday schedules as required. 

 

Working Conditions

  • Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness
  • Subject to loud and constant noise
  • Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold

 

Physical Requirements

  • All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s). Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs, sometimes repeatedly
  • Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
  • Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
  • Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights, on elevated platforms, or in confined spaces
  • Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
  • Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
  • Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception

 

Level: 9 

In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $22.40 per hour. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
