Founded in 1898, Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA) is a Christian, military-structured boarding and day school serving young men in grades 7–12 and postgraduate studies. Located in central Virginia, FUMA provides a college preparatory education focused on leadership, character, discipline, and personal growth. Our cadets come from across the United States and around the world.

FUMA is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Admission Counselor who is passionate about helping families find the right educational environment for their sons and supporting the mission of the Academy.

This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management

Duties & Responsibilities

• Recruit qualified students through strategic outreach and relationship-building efforts
• Guide families through all phases of the admissions and enrollment process
• Conduct campus tours and coordinate the Cadet Tour Guide Program
• Review applications and assist in determining admission eligibility
• Support reenrollment initiatives and retention efforts
• Represent FUMA at recruitment events, school fairs, and community activities
• Assist with Open House and Revisit Day programs
• Maintain admission materials and support office operations
• Work collaboratively to meet Academy enrollment goals
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree and demonstrate strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with high school students and families is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enrollment management software. The successful candidate should be able to build lasting relationships with students, parents, alumni, and colleagues while supporting the mission and values of Fork Union Military Academy. Experience in a boarding school, military school, or independent school setting is helpful, but not required.
