Position Overview:

The Process Engineer at QuestSpecialty is responsible for the processes that are needed to produce consistent high quality aerosol cans in an efficient manner. They assess workflows, equipment, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement in quality, safety, and capacity metrics.   They are responsible for defining and reporting on key performance indicators to measure the efficacy of these processes.  They work with other members of the Operational Excellence team to implement capital projects and other initiatives.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, equipment performance, layout to maximize efficiency
  • Evaluates and improves chemical processes by acquiring, evaluating, and reporting on critical process parameters in the mixing operations
  • Prepares and maintains process metrics and reports on them by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Evaluates and reports on plant operational efficiency and capacity
  • Is responsible for process scale-up and new product introduction
  • Offers critical technical support to plant personnel with quality issues or process upsets occur
  • Is familiar with process control systems including PLC and pneumatic control systems.
  • Offers critical support to HSSE and Quality initiatives
  • Supports the maintenance program as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or mechanical engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend 25%+ of an average day on your feet walking the lines.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.
