Role Summary 

The Payroll Coordinator will serve as a key member of the HR team to assist with managing day-to-day activities that support payroll and other human resources processes and documentation in order to ensure we provide a great employee experience. The individual will be a subject matter expert to support these processes and procedures. 

 

Essential Functions  

  1. Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from the time and attendance system, PTO, entering tax information, administering regulatory requirements, and other adjustments to pay as necessary. Ability to process payroll independently as needed. 
  2. Maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with the Director of Human Resources to improve payroll and HRIS processes. 
  3. Investigate and correct wage/hour errors and discrepancies as needed. 
  4. Maintain updated and accurate employee records in payroll/HRIS systems. 
  5. Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements. 
  6. Maintains complete electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees. 
  7. Ensure a great employee experience and support to all our employees. 
  8. Additional human resources support as needed

Work environment  

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. 

Position type and expected hours of work  

This is a full-time position in our Brentwood, TN office.  We are in the office 5 days per week. 

Required education and experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, payroll experience required 
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including strong excel and reporting skills 
  • Familiarity with software programs used in this job preferred (i.e. ADP or other payroll systems)
