Support the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager in maintaining the company's quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer compliance programs. This position is responsible for quality documentation, audit preparation and support, food safety program administration, supplier compliance, customer reporting, and quality data management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review daily QA records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring CCPs are monitored and documented on time and that non-conformances are addressed.
- Maintain QA filing systems and document control programs.
- Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and customer-required quality documentation.
- Review laboratory test results, coordinate sample submissions, and release finished product from hold when requirements are met.
- Work with other departments throughout the company to maintain product specifications, recipes, QA forms, and related quality documents.
- Assist the FSQA Manager with audit preparation and documentation requests, including supplier documentation, product specifications, recipes, and compliance records.
- Support regulatory, certification, customer, and third-party audits, including FDA, SQF, Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Almond Board DV, and other audits as required.
- Support sourcing team and FSQA Manager with supplier approval program.
- Support FSQA Manager with Food Safety Plan updates
- Provide basic SafetyChain support as needed, escalate technical issues to the support team.
- Track and analyze First Pass Quality (FPQ) metrics; prepare reports and presentations for quarterly management review meetings.
- Manage customer quality reporting requirements and coordinate customer responses, investigations, and corrective actions..
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform work duties as assigned.
Qualfications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent amount of relevant experience and education
- Nut roasting/frying, packaging, nut butter processing experience preferred
- HACCP and PCQI certifications desirable
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Available to work occasional weekends
- Reliable and dependable
This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, moving, and walking through a production plant. PPE required at certain times. Continued use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse-pad are to be expected.
