Job Summary
We are seeking a  Sterile Equipment Technician to join our team!
Requirement Overview

The VA is seeking qualified Sterile Processing Technicians (Medical Supply Technicians – Sterile Processing) to provide support for the Sterile Processing Service (SPS). Responsibilities include:

• Decontamination of reusable medical equipment (RME)

• Preparation and packaging of instruments and equipment

• Sterilization activities

• Instrument tracking and inventory control

• Distribution of sterile medical supplies

All services must be performed in accordance with applicable VA, federal, state, and professional standards.


As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be evaluating issues on equipment, troubleshooting problems, implementing repairs based on the issues, and repairing minor and major malfunctions to the best of your ability. You will also work closely with each customer we service to build and maintain strong working relationships, provide follow-up services to ensure everything is functioning properly, and document all issues and repairs as necessary. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of electronics and  equipment, and experience working with medical equipment.

Responsibilities 
  • Communicate with customers to determine the problems they’re experiencing with their equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues
  • Repair both minor and major issues to equipment in a timely manner
  • Follow up on repairs with customers to ensure the issues are resolved
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and customers
  • Maintain excellent, detailed records of all customer interactions and repairs
Qualifications
  • HSPA or CBSPD Certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
