Job DetailsJob Location: Brewster, NY 10509Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Category: MarketplaceMarketplace Associate Location: Brewster, NY Schedule: Full-Time | 5 Days per week | Must be available to work weekends  Pay: $16/hour   The primary function of this position is to provide exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Marketplace by assisting customers, maintaining merchandise, operating the register, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with locating products. Stock, organize, and replenish merchandise to maintain proper inventory levels and an attractive sales floor. Assist customers with curbside pickup by accurately loading orders into customer vehicles. Operate the cash register accurately, process customer transactions, and handle returns in accordance with company procedures. Bag customer purchases in a neat, organized, and efficient manner. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the sales floor by addressing spills, debris, and other hazards. Assist with unloading deliveries, inventory counts, merchandising, re-pack operations, and other operational tasks as needed. Must complete any additional tasks/duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Education/Training Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements. Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous retail experience preferred. Previous cash handling or point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities This is a full-time position. Must be able to work the assigned schedule. This position may require working overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Work hours may vary or change based on departmental requirements. Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job. Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work as a team and individually. Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies. Must be able to follow directions. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and helpful demeanor. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the Marketplace Sales Associate will work in a retail environment with frequent interaction with customers and employees. The work environment includes congested and high-traffic areas, occasional exposure to powered industrial equipment, and walking and standing on concrete flooring for extended periods. Duties may require working in varying indoor and outdoor climates, including loading customer vehicles and handling merchandise deliveries.
