The Arc of Ocean County is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to supervise and coordinate transition services for students with visual impairments. This role is responsible for supporting program operations, overseeing staff and mentors, and helping students develop the skills necessary for greater independence, employment readiness, and successful transition into adulthood.
Primary Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate the daily functions of transition and summer programs, including scheduling, curriculum support, and student services.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students with visual impairments while encouraging independence, accessibility awareness, and career/college preparedness.
- Supervise and mentor program staff through routine communication, performance feedback, and oversight of student documentation and progress tracking.
- Assist students in developing and maintaining Career-Focused Placement Plans (CFPPs) and vocational goals.
- Organize workshops, transportation logistics, program activities, family outreach efforts, and special events.
- Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of reports, billing records, attendance information, and other program documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students, families, CBVI staff, and community resources to support successful participant experiences and outcomes.
- Evaluate program operations and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, engagement, and overall effectiveness.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience required.
- Prior experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired is required.
- Experience in transition services, education, vocational programming, or a comparable field preferred.
- Background in program coordination, staff leadership, and student support services preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all required criminal background screenings, Central Registry checks, CARI checks, and drug screenings as required by state and agency standards.
- Strong computer and organizational skills required, including proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office technology; familiarity with assistive technology is preferred.
