Dental Assistant – Trainee / Entry-Level (Four-Day Workweek!)

Key Responsibilities

Patient Communication & Administration

  • Warmly welcome patients and guide them through pre- and post-operative instructions.

  • Document patient questions and update health histories in Electronic Dental Records (EDR/EHR).

  • Coordinate prescription refill requests under provider direction.

Clinical & Chairside Assisting (Trained On-the-Job)

  • Obtain and record vital signs and update health histories.

  • Place, expose, and process intraoral, panoramic, and digital radiographs.

  • Perform diagnostic tooth vitality testing and take digital impressions or scans for diagnostic models.

  • Assist the dentist during operative procedures, maintaining a clean and sterile clinical environment.

  • Fabricate and deliver temporary crowns, custom bleaching trays, and fluoride trays.

  • Provide clear Oral Health Instructions (OHI) and patient education.

  • Assist in placing/removing matrix bands, periodontal dressings, and suture removal under direct dentist supervision.  

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).

  • Licensure: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with Washington State (we will assist eligible candidates with registration steps).

  • Attributes: Strong communication skills, empathy, detail-oriented mindset, and a desire to learn!
