Dental Assistant – Trainee / Entry-Level (Four-Day Workweek!)

Key Responsibilities

Patient Communication & Administration

Warmly welcome patients and guide them through pre- and post-operative instructions.
Document patient questions and update health histories in Electronic Dental Records (EDR/EHR).
Coordinate prescription refill requests under provider direction.

Clinical & Chairside Assisting (Trained On-the-Job)

Obtain and record vital signs and update health histories.
Place, expose, and process intraoral, panoramic, and digital radiographs.
Perform diagnostic tooth vitality testing and take digital impressions or scans for diagnostic models.
Assist the dentist during operative procedures, maintaining a clean and sterile clinical environment.
Fabricate and deliver temporary crowns, custom bleaching trays, and fluoride trays.
Provide clear Oral Health Instructions (OHI) and patient education.
Assist in placing/removing matrix bands, periodontal dressings, and suture removal under direct dentist supervision.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
Licensure: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with Washington State (we will assist eligible candidates with registration steps).
Attributes: Strong communication skills, empathy, detail-oriented mindset, and a desire to learn!
