Job DetailsJob Location: Main Office - Bridgeport, WV 26330Salary Range: $38,000.00 Salary/year JOB SQUAD POSITION DESCRIPTION   JOB TITLE:  Human Resources Assistant IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Human Resources Manager DATE PREPARED OR REVISED:  01/2024   It is the policy of Job Squad that there shall be a description to provide essential information about the work activities to be performed and specification, which shall identify education, experience and skill requirements relevant to adequate performance in the position as described.  There shall be no unnecessary specifications which might have the effect of disqualifying a disproportionate number of minorities, women, Vietnam era veterans, and individuals with disabilities, persons over 40 years of age, or other protected class members.   PURPOSE:  Under supervision, the human resource assistant performs clerical/administrative support to one or more areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee and labor relations, and/or training. Processes various applications, employment, enrollment, informational and other confidential forms and records. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A associates degree in human resource management, business administration or related field, or one to two years’ experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Be able to obtain/maintain Federal security clearance according to FBI-CJIS clearance process, GSA clearance process, as well as a state background check. Must be willing to travel to contract locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HUMAN RELATIONS:   Must have good customer service skills, using positive language and reinforcing a climate of caring.    COMPETENCIES:   To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.   • Confidentiality – the individual must adhere to a strict confidentiality rule to maintain compliance with state and federal law • Problem solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully • Interpersonal Skills – the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things. • Oral communication – the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, and demonstrates group presentation skills. • Written Communication – the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information. • Planning/organizing – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, and uses time efficiently • Quality control – the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.   • Adaptability – the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. • Dependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Responsible for various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees. Participates in benefits administration to include initial sign up process. Conducts new-employee orientations; conducts reference checks, drug tests, background checks, and onboarding processes. Maintains HR records, reports and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures. Assists in organizational training and development efforts. Maintains human resource records. Attends meetings and seminars as requested. Helps maintain company organization charts and the employee directory. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Assists with conducting benefits enrollment for new employees. Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains books current. Submits the online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks. Assists with processing of terminations. Assists with recruitment and interview process. Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files. Prepares and maintains employee files. Updates postings in compliance with federal regulations at contract locations and offices.
