General Summary:

The Systems Administrator delivers technical support for Credit Union systems, users and third-party vendors from strategic and daily perspectives to keep employees working and minimize down-time of core processing systems, telephony, Microsoft 365 cloud services, Windows and Linux/Unix environments.  This person also administers virtual computing environment to deliver new computing resources or modify existing resources as required.

 

 

Key Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provides data queries and analyses of systems to deliver member and account information to staff, facilitating their daily work.
  2. Acts as liaison between Credit Union and third-party vendors for procurement, implementation and upgrade of systems.
  3. Provides system administration and troubleshooting of cloud‑based VoIP and unified communications platforms, including IVR (Integrated Voice Response) and fax services, to maintain member communication.
  4. Patches and upgrades operating system and third-party proprietary software to keep systems up to date with security fixes to minimize vulnerabilities which provide system attack opportunities. 
  5. Provides 2nd-Level Helpdesk support to end users to keep processes running smoothly.  
  6. Grants privileges to new users, changes existing users and removes terminated employees.
  7. Serves as the primary contact for day/night core processing operations as needed.
  8. Provides VMware and SAN administration, with a focus on high availability to provide resilient computing resources. 
  9. Ensures on time delivery of all server hardware & software needs with regards to new installations (project) and issue resolution (day-to-day).
  10. Administers and supports Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.
  11. Manages user identities, group membership, roles, and licensing using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  12. Supports Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities such as MFA, Conditional Access, message hygiene, audit logging, retention, and eDiscovery in accordance with Credit Union policies.
  13. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management and vendors.  Demonstrates the Credit Union’s core values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, and Responsibility.
  14. Keeps abreast of industry developments, including but not limited to changes in regulations and technology.
  15. Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations.
  16. Performs additional duties as required.


Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical certifications.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with:   UNIX and/or LINUX systems, Virtual environment(s), networking technologies which include TCP/IP, virtual NICs and switches.  Familiarity with telephony technology.
  3. Proven ability in performing Operating System Updates and applying patches.
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  5. Experience managing identities and access using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security and compliance concepts including MFA, Conditional Access, retention, and audit logging.
  7. Excellent communication, organizational and logical thinking skills.  Must be able to effectively manage time and priorities to deal with differing workloads and deadlines.  Must be detail/security oriented and able to communicate with people at all levels of technical experience.
  8. Available for on call & after-hours work.
  9. Ability to travel up to 20%
