MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Access Biller Rep’s general responsibilities include accurately responding to patient inquiries regarding their billing statements in a courteous manner, taking appropriate action to identify, investigate, and resolve or escalate any issues or errors on the bill. The Access Biller Rep is an initial contact for patient billing concerns and payments. Performs billing functions and provides patient education regarding copays, deductibles, etc. The rep must confirm proper documentation is occurring in the patient accounting system. The Access Biller Representative can offer the patient a payment plans following hospital payment plan guidelines. Â
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.Â
- College coursework or degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital, physician practice, or health insurance environment required.
- At least 1 year of medical billing experience is strongly preferred.
