Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist to join our Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) team in Bridgeton, NJ.

What You'll Do

As a Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist, you'll provide specialized support for individuals living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting substance use assessments and screenings
  • Providing substance abuse counseling and recovery support services
  • Delivering crisis intervention and symptom assessment
  • Utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI) and recovery-oriented treatment approaches
  • Assisting clients in developing recovery and relapse-prevention skills
  • Coordinating referrals to rehabilitation, detoxification, and treatment programs
  • Sharing responsibility for client caseload management
  • Connecting clients with community resources, benefits, housing supports, and recovery services
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and compliance standards

What You'll Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited college or university
  • CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor) credential
  • Minimum two years of post-certification experience working with:
    • Co-occurring disorders
    • Serious and persistent mental illness
    • MICA (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted) populations
  • Knowledge of substance use treatment and recovery principles
  • Experience providing counseling and community-based behavioral health services
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule
  • Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
  • Strong communication, engagement, and crisis intervention skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spanish-English bilingual skills
  • Experience with PACT or Assertive Community Treatment programs
  • Experience utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented and integrated treatment models
