Job DetailsJob Location: Bridgeton Wellness S78 - Bridgeton, NJ 08302Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: Up to 25%JOB DESCRIPTION: School-based counselors provide and deliver school-based services that improve student outcomes. School-based counselors provide individual and group counseling sessions to youth in grades k-12. School-based counselors work within the school system to assist in supporting youth’s social, emotional, behavioral and academic well-being.   MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: Schedule and Conduct regular mental and behavioral counseling sessions with youth in grades k-12 Establish positive and trusting relationships with youth and school personnel Collaborate with school personnel to determine how best to meet youth’s needs Implement various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address youth needs Ability to accurately diagnose based on youth’s symptoms Continually assess progression/regression of youth and provide the proper ongoing treatments Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process when necessary Collaborate with outside agencies, as necessary, to ensure continuity of care Record and maintain adequate documentation (intake forms, biopsychosocial assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, mental health inventories, etc.) Maintain neat and organized files and workspace When required, refer youth to outside sources or agencies that can better address their specific needs Maintain the strictest confidentiality of each youth Maintain all required licenses and certifications Provide mental health related trainings and attend community meetings as needed Participate in weekly supervision and staff meetings Assist with outreach efforts   JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education:  Master’s Degree   OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field. Licensed or licensed-eligible counselor or social worker preferred. Meet all necessary state licensure requirements for NJ Minimum of one-year therapy experience in an outpatient or in-home setting. Must have experience with utilizing short-term therapy modalities. Knowledgeable of the DSM-5 Must obtain personal liability insurance upon hiring   OTHER SKILLS Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen Solid relationship-building capabilities Good verbal and written communication skills A positive and compassionate attitude Keen attention to detail Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field Passion for advancing in the mental health field Ability to work independently or as part of a team Able to maintain a flexible schedule  Qualifications
