Part TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeSalary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 HourlyJOB DESCRIPTION:  The Cook for the Follow Me and Lead Summer Camp program will be responsible for the preparation of nutritious and well-balanced meals for the campers. The cook will ensure that meals are planned, prepared, and served in accordance with food safety standards while encouraging healthy eating habits. The cook will also handle the procurement of food supplies and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.   MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:   Menu Planning & Food Procurement: Plan and prepare daily meals, focusing on health-conscious options, including fruits, vegetables, and protein sources to meet the nutritional needs of children. Purchase food supplies in accordance with budget and dietary guidelines. Meal Preparation: Cook breakfast, lunch, and snacks for campers, ensuring portion control and accommodating any food allergies or dietary restrictions. Serving Meals: Serve meals in a timely and friendly manner, fostering a positive and welcoming dining experience for the children. Kitchen Clean-Up: Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning food prep areas, and properly storing ingredients. Promoting Healthy Choices: Incorporate a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains into meals, encouraging healthy eating habits among campers. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all local food handling regulations and health department guidelines to provide safe and sanitary meal services.   JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Certification in food safety or nutrition is preferred.   EXPERIENCE: Prior experience as a cook or in food service is required.
