About the Role
Moraine Court Supportive Living is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will help create a positive dining experience for our residents by preparing nutritious, flavorful meals in a welcoming senior living environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, works well as part of a team, and understands the importance of food quality, safety, sanitation, and consistency. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys making a difference through great food and service.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous cooking or food preparation experience
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work 10-hour daytime shifts, four days per week
Every other weekend availability required
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, supportive living, long-term care, healthcare, or a similar setting
Experience preparing meals for large groups
Familiarity with special diets, dietary restrictions, and basic nutrition guidelines
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
Ensure meals are prepared and served safely, consistently, and on time
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures
Accommodate resident dietary needs and special meal requirements as directed
Assist with kitchen inventory, food storage, and restocking supplies
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
Properly store, label, and rotate food according to established procedures
Collaborate with dietary team members to provide an enjoyable dining experience
Communicate resident preferences, concerns, and dietary needs appropriately
Assist with meal preparation for special events and community celebrations as needed
