Position Overview: To work with and/or be given direction by the Bridgeville Lab Manager on assigned job responsibilities regarding the coordination and review of testing results, order status, and dispositioning of orders for the Bridgeville and North Jackson plants.

Specific Responsibilities:

Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but not limited to:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of testing requirements to meet specifications and standards
  • Review test results and/or process charts for acceptance per specification(s)
  • Create documentation and certifications based on the manufacturing order for specific operations steps
  • Expedite flow of order releases with Operations to ensure adherence to planning requirements
  • Extensive interaction within Operations, Sales & Technology
  • Foster a culture of a sense of urgency while also ensuring attention to detail in all processes in the assigned areas
  • Plan, execute, and monitor work including weekly OTP orders, monthly shipping target orders, and late orders lingering in the Lab
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Policies through adherence to standardized processes & practices

 Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office
  • Requires good organizational skills and paying attention to detail
  • Must be able to interact with the salary and hourly workforce on safety, scheduling and training issues
  • Previous report and certification generation and review experience a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with steel manufacturing process, testing requirements, and specifications
  • Must be highly organized and methodical in his/her approach to given tasks
  • Review mechanical testing, metallographic results, and chemical analysis
  • Create certifications for stainless steel semi-finished products

  • Ability to work over-time, including weekends and/or anytime directed by Department Manager

Education and Experience:

  • College degree with business or engineering background in any related discipline
  • High School Graduate, BS degree
  • Experience in material test specification desired (AMS, ASTM, etc.)
  • Previous report and certification generation and review experience a plus, but not required

 Safety:

  • Ensure personal compliance with safety policies and rules, including PPE requirements
  • Ensure personal compliance with applicable regulatory (safety, environmental, health) standards
  • Reporting and participation in the investigations of safety incidents and/or accidents

 Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Ability to safely move around in a heavy industrial plant environment; including but not limited to:
  • Walking or riding from building-to-building o Ascending or Descending steps within the plant
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
