We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team at our Bridgton location. In this role, you will configure and run a variety of CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate precision components dedicated exclusively to our unique product lines and requirements.


The ideal candidate possesses strong proficiency in setting up and operating both lathes and milling machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and run CNC mills and lathes to execute precision cutting, boring, and profiling.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Review blueprints, engineering data packages, and job routers specific to Howell Laboratories, Inc. to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Quality & Monitoring: Monitor production outputs closely to detect tooling wear and machine deviations early. Utilize manual measurement tools to verify that finished components meet rigorous Howell Laboratories, Inc. quality metrics.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily checks of machine coolant and way oil, maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe operating environment by actively following Howell Laboratories, Inc. and OSHA regulations, proper machine protocols, and shop safety procedures. Always keep a clean and organized work area.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or technical trade school certificate.
  • 3+ years of precision CNC/manual machining experience.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and a solid understanding of machining basics.
  • Proficiency in shop/practical math is highly desired.

  • Operational precision, focus on division goals, mechanical troubleshooting, and quality tracking.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

Physical ability to operate machines.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching

Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
