Surgical Technician (Part time Day shift) Sign on Bonus available

Be part of the BMC Brighton team dedicated to advancing diagnostic excellence and improving patient outcomes. As a member of the surgical team, the surgical technician provides patient care during surgical procedures by providing an aseptic and safe environment.  Duties include prepping and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery. Uses technical and aseptic techniques to ensure the methodology complies with established sterile standards and procedures.

• $10,000 sign-on bonus - for candidates with over 1 year of multi-specialty experience

• $5,000 sign-on bonus - for candidates with less than 1 year or single specialty experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent and a graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program).

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Surgical Technician certification required or Surg Tech experience prior to 2013 as dictated by MA law

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous surgical tech experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Ability to effectively speak read and write English

• Ability to accurately interpret and use medical terminology and abbreviations

• Computer proficiency to access and enter computerized data/information.

• Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians and other hospital staff.

• Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
