Dunnage Engineering is a mid-sized manufacturer of custom returnable containers and dunnage components, primarily for the automotive industry. Since 1961, we have been a trusted supplier to OEMs and other companies within the supply chain throughout North America and some exporting worldwide. 

Over the years we have become a critical partner to many companies within the automotive supply chain and have built a solid reputation for quality, service, and well engineered dunnage solutions. Our manufacturing capabilities include injection molded thermoplastics, lamination of vinyl coating to steel sheets, forming and fabrication of steel parts and assembly of components into returnable packaging products. 

With 80-90 employees at our Brighton, Michigan, facility, we're strategically located in the heart of the automotive industry, just northwest of Detroit. This proximity allows us to work closely with our customers and respond quickly to their evolving packaging needs.

About the Role 

The Manufacturing Operations Manager reports to the President and has four direct reports. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations that have a high volume of short run projects, ensuring that operational objectives are met in alignment with company standards. The Manufacturing Operations Manager has overall accountability for all manufacturing departments, as well as shipping and receiving. 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide a team of department managers to ensure company goals are met. 
• Assist the team with scheduling production orders and priorities. 
• Coordinate teamwork between production departments. 
• Conduct weekly production meetings with other departments to update status on current projects. 
• Identifying machine and equipment needs. 
• Working with the Safety Coordinator and Quality Manager to ensure all manufacturing requirements are met.
