We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior staff, and drive innovation in our engineering department. This is a high-level position with tremendous opportunity for the right individual. You will be responsible for the oversight, design, and approval process for residential, commercial, and automotive projects, including planning, entitlement services, site plan approval, and engineering design through construction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and review engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain client relationships.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Present at board meetings with community leaders and manage relationships with customers, businesses, and community leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 6 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and local/state regulations.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own projects with support and guidance accessible.
