As part of Primary Companies, we collaborate with our asset-based trucking operations, pallet manufacturing, and sawmill to provide comprehensive service solutions for various logistical and operational needs.

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced and motivated Freight Agents to join our team on a commission-only, remote contract basis. This role allows for complete flexibility while providing access to industry-leading tools and a vast network of carriers.

Freight Agents build and maintain their own book of business, coordinating and managing the logistics and transportation of goods. This includes:

Prospecting and cold calling leads to establish valuable client relationships
Booking shipments and negotiating competitive rates with carriers
Ensuring timely delivery of cargo and maintaining communication with shippers and carriers
Handling necessary documentation and resolving transit issues proactively

Qualifications

Experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation
Knowledge of freight brokerage and transportation logistics
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Background in customer service and relationship management
Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Previous freight brokerage or transportation experience is a plus
