Job DetailsJob Location: BRISBANE HQ - BRISBANE, CA 94005Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 SalaryPosition Summary: Cutera is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Operations Specialist to support the Company’s Legal Department across litigation and discovery, corporate entity management, export compliance, knowledge management, and other legal operations matters. This role is designed for an experienced legal professional with substantial in-house experience and demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects. The successful candidate will be highly organized, resourceful, detail-oriented, and capable of soliciting minimum requirements and feedback from team members to facilitate, drive and launch projects from initial planning through completion. A paralegal certificate is not required, although candidates with a paralegal certificate or comparable legal training are encouraged to apply. The role may expand over time to include support for Cutera’s patent and trademark portfolios and reviewing contract redlines. Duties & Responsibilities: Litigation and Discovery Support  Support the Legal Department in managing litigation, ADR, administrative proceedings, subpoenas, claims, and other disputes.  Coordinate document preservation, litigation holds, data collection, document review, and discovery productions.  Maintain litigation calendars, internal matter trackers, discovery logs, custodian lists, production records, and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure timely completion of litigation-related activities.  Assist with submitting insurance claims, document collections, witness materials, and other litigation work product.  Assist with managing outside counsel requests, legal invoices, budgets, and matter status reporting.  Corporate Entity Management  Manage and maintain records for Cutera’s domestic and international subsidiaries and other legal entities, and intercompany documentation; track compliance deadlines and proactively address requirements and obligations.  Coordinate annual filings, registrations, renewals, director and officer appointments, powers of attorney, organizational changes, and other corporate maintenance activities with local counsel, registered agents, finance, tax, human resources, and other internal stakeholders regarding entity-management requirements.  Export Compliance Support  Support the administration and continued development of Cutera’s export compliance program.  Maintain export compliance policies, procedures, training materials, screening records, and audit documentation.  Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Sales, Logistics, Customer Service, and other teams to obtain information needed for export compliance reviews.  Assist with internal audits, investigations, corrective actions, and responses to questions involving export controls, economic sanctions, and international trade compliance.   Legal Operations and Knowledge Management  Develop, document, and improve team processes, workflows, intake procedures, trackers, templates, and tools.  Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies, deadlines, and deliverables.  Organize legal records using consistent naming, filing, version-control, retention, and access-management practices.  Help develop playbooks, standard operating procedures, checklists, templates, dashboards, and training materials.  Support implementation and administration of legal technology and matter-management tools.  Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, transparency, and accountability within the Legal Department; for example, identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline repetitive legal work.  Assist with departmental reporting, budgeting, invoice review, outside counsel management, and other legal operations activities.  Provide general administrative and substantive support to attorneys on special projects and time-sensitive matters.  Potential Expanded Responsibilities: Depending on experience and departmental needs, the role may also:  Assist with management of Cutera’s domestic and international patent and trademark portfolios, including filing of new applications, responding to Office Actions and maintenance and renewals.  Coordinate with intellectual property counsel regarding filings, renewals, office actions, assignments, deadlines, and portfolio records.  Maintain intellectual property docketing records and supporting documentation.  Conduct an initial review of redlined commercial agreements, identify deviations from approved templates, and organize comments for attorney review.  QualificationsMinimum Requirements & Qualifications: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in legal operations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in legal operations. Significant experience supporting an in-house legal department. Substantive experience in litigation support, discovery coordination, corporate entity management, legal operations, compliance, or a combination of these areas.  Demonstrated project-management and project-execution skills, including the ability to independently organize and complete complex projects.  Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.  Advanced organizational skills, prioritization and time management skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to gracefully manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to work effectively with attorneys, business leaders, outside counsel, vendors, and employees across functions and geographic regions.  Sound judgment and discretion to handle confidential, privileged, and sensitive information.  Ability to identify issues, investigate, propose practical solutions, and escalate matters appropriately.  A consistent record of accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through.  Preferred Qualifications: Paralegal certificate or other relevant legal or compliance training.  Experience reviewing contract redlines or administering commercial contracts.  Experience supporting patent and trademark portfolio administration.
