Seaman Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team, on a night shift 12-hour schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation, 7pm-7am.
POSITION SUMMARY
This Maintenance Technician is responsible but not limited to the continuous upkeep, repair and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment, auxiliary equipment, and support equipment in accordance with diagrams, operation manual manuals, and manufacturers specifications. This person will work with and diagnose issues on equipment such as extrusion systems, conveyor systems, air compressors, chiller units, and other equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promote safety and safety awareness by keeping the work area clean, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to company policy and regulations by following posted safety and security procedures and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
- Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Dismantle devices and equipment to gain access to defective parts, using hoists, cranes, forklifts, hand tools and power tools.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshoot electrical problems with the use of a voltmeter/amp meter or other instruments to test components, check amperage, etc.;
- Operate and maintain Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) functions utilizing visual and electronic displays; maintain RTO log and fault log; troubleshoot and maintain plant dust collectors and bag houses, plant vacuum material delivery systems; troubleshoot and repair gas and heat systems for production ovens; troubleshoot, operate and maintain cooling tower; maintain boiler systems.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Furnish tools and supplies as needed for proper repair to ensure the safe and efficient use and maintain the proper working condition of tools, equipment and machinery.
- Utilize software programs such as Step Seven, RS Logis, RS Links and others to diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs, equipment displays, communication systems, etc.
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering team to ensure equipment performance.
- Utilize and update the maintenance work order system, such as MaintainX, on a timely basis; and maintain accurate inventory of parts and equipment.
- Promote Lean Sigma by actively participating and supporting Lean Events, ensure 5S is completed and maintained; perform daily housekeeping in work area according to schedule and assignment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School or equivalent; minimum 3-5 years related experience
- WorkKeys Skill Assessments (NCRC) and Applied Technology
- Driver’s license required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- AS in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics or other related training.
