Joining the Bristol Township team means becoming part of an organization that values partnership, respect, innovation, diversity, and excellence.  GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS ROLE Park Attendants serve to support the safe and efficient operation of Township parks and recreational facilities. This position accommodates two shift types — daytime Spray Park shifts and evening Parks Patrol shifts — scheduled on a variable basis according to operational need. Employees may be assigned to either shift type and must be available to work evenings and weekends.  SCHEDULE: Daily Shifts will vary based on staff availability and coverage needs: Saturday-Tuesday; 9:00am - 4:00pm Example: 9:00am-12:00pm (morning 3-hour shift); 12:00pm-4:00pm (afternoon 4-hour shift) Wednesday-Friday; 9:00am - 8:00pm Example: 9:00am-3:00pm (6-hour shift); 3:00pm-8:00pm (5-hour shift)  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Spray Park Operations Monitor and test spray park water chemistry and system levels; adjust as needed and document daily readings. Inspect spray features, equipment, and pump house at start and end of each shift for proper function and damage. Clean and maintain the spray park area, pump house, surrounding grounds, and support facilities. Supervise public use of the spray park; ensure safe conduct and compliance with park rules. Open and close the spray park in accordance with established procedures. Report equipment malfunctions, facility damage, and incidents to the Parks Division Manager. Parks Patrol Operations Conduct routine patrols of assigned Township parks using a Township-provided vehicle. Inspect parks for safety hazards, equipment damage, vandalism, and after-hours rule violations. Collect and dispose of trash; report overflow or collection issues to the Parks Division Manager. Activate park lighting and secure facilities — gates, buildings, and restrooms — at end of the operating day as assigned. Monitor park areas for unauthorized activity; enforce park rules courteously and professionally. In the event of active vandalism or an emergency, immediately contact department staff and the Bristol Township Police Department — do not intervene in dangerous situations. Complete written shift reports documenting patrol activities, observations, incidents, and conditions requiring follow-up. Customer Service Represent the department professionally at all times. Provide courteous assistance to patrons; respond to questions and concerns professionally. Respond to and document incidents per department protocol. Follow all Township policies and safety regulations.  This description is intended to provide a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of the Park Attendant. Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet the goals of the Township. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license in good standing. Ability to pass all required pre-employment clearances. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Background Check Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114) Prior experience in parks, facilities, recreation, or a related field. Knowledge of basic water chemistry and spray feature or pool operations. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start). Public-facing customer service or community services experience.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform essential job functions successfully.
