Responsibilities:

  • Lead stamping process and die design strategy for high-volume manufacturing, including compound, progressive, and transfer tooling.
  • Own process capability and performance optimization, using data analysis, KPIs, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve safety, quality, cost, and throughput.
  • Serve as technical authority for steel stamping processes, providing hands-on troubleshooting and long-term solutions—not short-term fixes.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) from a manufacturing readiness perspective, ensuring robust tooling, stable launches, and scalable processes.
  • Design, review, and improve stamping dies and related tooling, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and compliance with design standards.
  • Collaborate with and manage external tooling vendors and stamping suppliers, defining specifications, reviewing concepts, and ensuring execution to requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement and engineering excellence, mentoring others while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent hands-on experience directly supporting stamping and die design in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in stamping process engineering and die design within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in steel stamping processes, including compound, progressive, and transfer dies.
  • Working knowledge or experience with aluminum and copper stamping processes preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, material behavior, and component strength requirements.
  • Proficiency in CAD and/or UG for creating, reading, and modifying drawings; solid knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Red-X, or similar problem-solving methodologies; Green Belt or Red-X experience preferred.
