Staff Pharmacist – Specialty Pharmacy (Temporary Assignment)

Pharmacy Hours and Location:

  • This pharmacy serves the local community Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Typical pharmacist schedules are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Occasional Saturday coverage may be required
  • We are located at 41 Brewster Road, Bristol, CT 06010

As a Staff Pharmacist on the Specialty Pharmacy team at Omnicell, you'll contribute to a community's well-being, act as a trusted advisor to patients, and ensure pharmacy operations are efficient, effective, and continually improving while being part of a global organization dedicated to innovation in medication management.

  • Provide exceptional and personalized patient care and pharmacy consulting services; advise and guide with empathy, confidentiality, and diligence
  • Perform product verification and data verification activities to ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing
  • Provide clinical counseling and education to specialty pharmacy patients
  • Build effective relationships with physicians, providers, and healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes
  • Support pharmacy operations by providing coverage for scheduled absences and staffing needs
  • Embrace a deep understanding of pharmacy operations and a drive for continual improvement, learning, and leading to provide the best possible patient care and empower the pharmacy team's development
  • Stay informed of regulations, retail pharmacy best practices, and knowledge of specialty disease states including Oncology, Rheumatology, and Endocrinology

What You'll Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D. or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Successful completion of Connecticut state pharmacy board examination
  • Active Connecticut Pharmacist License in good standing
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in specialty pharmacy
  • Experience counseling patients on specialty medications
  • Strong clinical communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment


Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • This position is moderately active and requires standing, walking, and other movement for the duration of the shift and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes
