Thermal Specialties is seeking a motivated Assistant General Manager to support the leadership of our Heat Treat Division. This hands-on leadership role assists with daily manufacturing operations, quality management, customer service, and business operations while developing the skills needed to advance into a General Manager role.



The successful candidate will receive training and mentorship, including exposure to managing a division's profit and loss (P&L) performance.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading the daily operations of the Heat Treat Division to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Supervise and develop production personnel while promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Schedule production to maximize equipment utilization and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other applicable quality standards.
  • Lead quality initiatives, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and oversight of pyrometry and hardness testing.
  • Monitor equipment performance to maximize uptime and ensure calibration and preventive maintenance requirements are met.
  • Support pricing, quoting, invoicing, and logistics activities to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, auditors, and employees.
  • Learn and assist with division financial management, including budgeting, cost control, gross margin performance, and P&L (Profit & Loss) responsibilities.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturing, quality, or operations leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, Nadcap, or CQI-9 is a plus (training provided).
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Manufacturing environment with regular exposure to production areas, heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
