CNC Machine Operator
We are seeking a dependable CNC operator to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of operations. Top candidates will be detail-oriented and have an above-average aptitude for trigonometry, geometry, and algebra. Additionally, possess analytical, time management and communication skills, and a willingness to learn and lead by example.
Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets work orders and blueprints (materials, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances or GD&T) to machine products accurately
- Performs inspections of equipment, structures, materials and products
- Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Monitors the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Utilizes precision measuring tools to inspect and measure products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
- Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintains clear and honest communication
- Learns and applies the latest relevant knowledge to the work
- Possesses ethical behavior, attention to detail, self-motivation, precision, and enforces quality standards
Desired Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
- Previous experience with Mazak (lathes & mills), Okuma (lathes), Haas (mill), Citizen (Swiss) is a plus
- Computer savvy and familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software is a plus
- Experience utilizing a tow motor is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are a plus
- Capable of setting up mills and lathes by installing fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications is a plus
- Capable of programming the machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs is a plus
