This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work OnÂ
A Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and services manufacturing and facility systems.
Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systems
Interpret blueprints and schematics
Implement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts
Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair
Adhere to current sanitation and GMP requirements
Maintain current status on all required training Â
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of previous experience with machine repair in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude
Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation
Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease
Demonstrated seamer proficiency
Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Diploma
Predictive Maintenance experience/training
Backflow Prevention certified by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction Association
Seamer certified via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer School
