Pay Rate: $40.00/hr +

Birch Agency is seeking Social Studies/ History Teachers to join our team!

We are currently looking for Social Studies/History Teachers to instruct students in Bronx, NY for the 2026/2027 school year. The teachers will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in history, geography, civics, economics, and related subjects. They will foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and an understanding of historical events and their impact on the modern world. Additionally, they will create a positive learning environment that supports student growth and academic achievement.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
Teach subjects such as world history, U.S. history, geography, government, and economics.
Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of historical events and social issues.
Assess student progress through assignments, exams, projects, and presentations.
Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
Integrate technology and multimedia resources into instruction.
Maintain classroom management and a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Provide feedback to students and communicate progress with parents/guardians.
Prepare students for standardized tests and academic assessments.
Stay current with educational best practices and subject matter developments.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in history, Social Studies, Education, or a related field.
Valid teaching certification or licensure in New York.
Strong knowledge of historical content and social sciences.
