Job DetailsJob Location: Bronxville - Bronxville, NY 10708Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Doctoral DegreeSalary Range: $90,000.00 - $108,000.00 Salary/yearPosition Summary Iona University’s NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking candidates for the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) position starting August 15, 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure, clinical position. The individual will serve as a core faculty member of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and is responsible for oversight, coordination, and continuous quality improvement of the clinical education component of the DPT program. The DCE ensures that all clinical education experiences meet programmatic goals, institutional expectations, and accreditation standards established by Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The DCE, reporting to the department Chair and DPT Program Director, serves as the primary liaison between the academic program and clinical education partners and provides leadership in curriculum development, student assessment, and clinical site management. Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical Education Curriculum Leadership Oversee and coordinate the clinical education thread of the DPT curriculum Lead curriculum development for clinical education in collaboration with faculty and clinical partners Ensure alignment between didactic preparation, clinical expectations, and professional competencies Clinical Liaison Serve as the primary liaison between the Department of Physical Therapy and clinical education partners Foster strong, sustainable relationships with clinical sites and clinical educators Clinical Site Management Recruit, develop, and maintain high-quality clinical education sites Establish and manage affiliation agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU) Oversee student placement and conduct ongoing evaluation of clinical sites and partners Student Support and Advising Provide guidance and advising to students throughout clinical education preparation and experiences Support student professional development and address clinical education concerns as they arise Student Assessment Assess student academic and professional readiness for clinical education experiences Evaluate professional behaviors, clinical skills, and performance during clinical rotations Ensure appropriate use and interpretation of clinical assessment tools Program Assessment and Accreditation Conduct systematic assessment of the clinical education thread to ensure compliance with program, university, and accreditation standards Prepare documentation and evidence related to clinical education for accreditation and continuous improvement Institutional and Professional Engagement Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarship as required Maintain physical therapy licensure in good standing Fulfill assigned teaching load and faculty responsibilities in accordance with department, university, and accreditation requirements Reporting Provide annual clinical education updates to the department during the annual department retreat Present biannual clinical education reports to the Board of Advisors during scheduled meetings QualificationsRequired Qualifications Doctoral degree in physical therapy or a related field (DPT, PhD, EdD) Physical therapist with an active, unencumbered PT license in any United States jurisdiction and in compliance with where the program is located Minimum of three (3) years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice Minimum of two (2) years of one of the following: Experience as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE) or Clinical Instructor (CI) in physical therapy, or Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program Preferred Qualifications Experience using clinical education management systems such as EXXAT Familiarity with the Clinical Performance Instrument (CPI) Experience working with diverse clinical partners and healthcare systems Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated effective communication skills and appropriate professional behaviors consistent with academic and clinical environments Strong focus on flexibility, ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills, good follow-up and judgment. Must be able to prioritize. Attention to detail; demonstrate a strong commitment to precision and accuracy in all tasks and responsibilities. Ability to analyze and synthesize information, with a demonstrated capacity to solve problems effectively. Commitment to inclusive, team-based healthcare education. Proven ability as a self-starter with a resourceful mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, clinical partners and community members.
