Experienced Dog Groomer – Bentley’s Pet Stuff (Brookfield, WI)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.00 per hour + up to 50% commission

Candidates must have professional grooming experience in a salon or mobile setting. Bathing or grooming pets at home does not qualify. Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform full-service grooming, including bathing, clipping, brushing, and breed-standard or client-specific cuts.
- Prioritize pet safety and well-being throughout the grooming processÂ
- Build strong, positive relationships with pet parentsÂ
- Recommend appropriate products to enhance the pet’s care and appearanceÂ
- Maintain grooming area cleanliness, organization, and sanitationÂ
- Use store scheduling and POS systems as neededÂ
- Attend meetings and trainingsÂ
- Work collaboratively with the store and grooming teamÂ
- Perform other duties and projects as assignedÂ
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on professional dog grooming experience requiredÂ
- High school diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Formal grooming education or certification preferredÂ
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindsetÂ
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Comfortable using grooming tools, scheduling software, and basic computer programsÂ
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active grooming environment with tubs, dryers, tables, and equipmentÂ
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 45 poundsÂ
- May require occasional travel to other locations, meetings, or eventsÂ
- Variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysÂ
- Must be comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Requirements
General: Formal grooming/safety training and a proven track record of success
Working Environment: This job operates in a grooming environment with grooming tubs, tables, and dryers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a variable-hour position; days and hours of work will vary. This position requires the flexibility to work within our regular store operating hours, including before and after hours, and on weekends. Overtime may be necessary at times.
Travel: Occasional travel to other stores, meetings, and events may be required, including trips before or after hours.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items and/or pets weighing up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Â
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of pet grooming experience
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Formal Grooming education or license
