Summary

The Application Engineer Manager leads technical solutions, application support, and engineering strategy for Anderson Process’s industrial distribution business. This role ensures customers receive optimal fluid-handling solutions by leveraging Anderson Process’s broad portfolio which includes industrial pumps, sanitary pumps, fluid conveyance, filtration systems, mixers, heat transfer equipment and general process equipment.

In addition to directly managing a team of Application Engineers in Brookfield, Wisconsin, this position serves as a company‑wide technical resource, providing guidance, training, and best‑practice leadership to all Application Engineers across Anderson Process.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Wisconsin based Application Engineers, managing workload, performance feedback, and employee development.
  • Serving as a technical resource, engineering best practice mentor and training/development coordinator for Application Engineers across all Anderson Process locations.
  • Develop and implement standardized practices across the Application Engineering team while driving adoption of new technologies, digital tools, and updated product literature from Anderson Process’s manufacturing partners. 
  • Equip Application Engineering staff to lead technical root-cause analysis for customer-related product failures or system inefficiencies.
  • Serve as a member of the Anderson Process Tech Training Program Team with the objective of ensuring strong product knowledge across the full spectrum of Anderson Process fluid-handling technologies.
  • Represent Application Engineering in meetings focused on business growth, expanded offerings, and supplier relationships.
  • Understand the relationship between pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, vacuum etc.), motors, valves, filters, controls, and complementary equipment to develop complete system solutions to complex customer applications. 
  • Promote a collaborative team approach between application engineering, inside sales, and outside sales throughout the quote-to-delivery process. 
  • Coordinate projects, application reviews, and customer follow-up.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and vendor partners.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through vendor training, industry education, and professional development.
  • Track and improve application engineering metrics such as quote turnaround time, solution quality, and team efficiency.

Education / Skills / Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or another Engineering discipline.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
  • Strong experience working directly with customers and sales teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving‑solving and systems development capability.

Preferred:

  • Industrial pump product knowledge.
  • Experience with application engineering in industrial or process environments.
  • Prior multi‑site or matrix leadership experience.
