Silgan Containers is seeking a Project Engineer to support capital engineering projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is ideal for a recent graduate in engineering, construction project management, or project management who is interested in developing hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, capital projects, and equipment installations.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders while gaining exposure to large-scale manufacturing environments, vendor coordination, and multi-site project execution.

What You Will Do
As a Project Engineer, you will support and gradually take ownership of capital projects while learning project management fundamentals in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with managing capital projects from planning through execution
Help develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and plant teams
Track project costs, process purchase orders, and monitor budgets
Support equipment installations and system upgrades across facilities
Participate in project meetings and provide status updates
Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and layouts
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and timeline expectations
Gain hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes and equipment
Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
What You Need to Bring
We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented graduates who are eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing project environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management or a related field
Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing
Basic understanding of project management concepts such as timelines, budgets, and planning
Ability to read or learn to interpret technical drawings and plans
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel 50–70% to manufacturing sites
Interest in hands-on work, manufacturing environments, and continuous learning
