Overview of the Senior Business Analyst
We’re in search of an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong hands-on experience working with external-facing commercialized data products and solutions. In this role, you’ll primarily work with internal stakeholders—including product managers, business analysts, and business SMEs—as well as client firms to gather and elaborate on requirements. You will partner with the Data Services Product team, developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood, executable, and aligned to the needs the data solution is intended to solve.
Reporting to the Head of Data Services, this role is part of a robust Data Services team that oversees the build and maintenance of commercialized Data Platforms and Data-as-a-Service capabilities. The team champions the development of platform capabilities and supports the delivery of data through these capabilities on behalf of other business and product teams. This role is expected to participate in one or more Scrum teams, daily Scrum meetings, and broader Data Services team meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst
- Gather user requirements from external and internal clients through user requirements documentation and/or end-user interviews.
- Participate in the project estimation process.
- Build relationships with various external and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with stakeholders and technical development staff to create functional design documents based on user requirements.
- Develop strong test plans to support project quality.
- Develop and execute test scripts for functional testing, ensuring all identified requirements are thoroughly tested and defects and/or results are properly documented.
- Provide ongoing project support for regression testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Report project status to stakeholders, project management, and senior executives.
- Develop a professional rapport with project stakeholders and maintain an excellent level of client satisfaction.
- Create implementation plans and validate the successful implementation of projects.
- Stay current on industry trends and new technologies, participate in internal and external wealth management communities, and mentor others within the financial technology community.
Skills and Experience of the Senior Business Analyst
- 4+ years of professional, hands-on experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably in the brokerage or financial services industry.
- Experience writing client-facing documentation such as scope documents, functional documents, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience building and testing RESTful APIs and SQL.
- Experience interacting with or publishing data to Snowflake cloud data warehouse.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and get up to speed quickly.
- Ability to work autonomously and in teams, with enthusiasm for new technologies, industry initiatives, and scale-related challenges.
- Experience building successful client and internal team relationships.
 Compensation:
- We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and market location including full benefits offering and PTO. Minimum salary of $100,000 plus bonus opportunities and other incentives.
