Job DetailsJob Location: Brookfield Campus - Brookfield, WI 53045Elmbrook's vision is to help people become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission in our homes, communities, and world. This position performs a wide variety of custodial and light maintenance duties in and around the church campus facilities in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment. The role involves routine cleaning activities, troubleshooting, performing minor repairs, responding to emergency calls for service; performing scheduled and impromptu room setup and takedown for a wide variety of ministry events; working closely with employees and the public to meet their custodial needs; and resolving problems to ensure efficient and safe operations.   Primary Responsibilities Prioritize and complete tasks outlined in daily work assignments to ensure building cleanliness meets established standards Remove trash and recyclables in accordance with established procedures Clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, classrooms and other facilities as assigned Stock facilities with paper and supplies and submit written requests for needed supplies Respond to ministry service requests as needed Perform custodial and light maintenance duties such as repair/replace restroom paper product fixtures, correct non-mechanical toilet issues and replace light bulbs. Identify and remove stains from a variety of surfaces using proper chemicals Assist with grounds keeping projects as required Operate power equipment such as various lawnmowers, carpet extractors, pressure washer, hand and power tools, weed whips and church vehicles as needed Report safety and security concerns immediately to facilities leadership Respond to facility incidents/emergencies in a timely manner and timely completion of an incident report Direct the work of volunteers and community service workers as assigned Qualifications Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, vision and core values Prioritize and execute assigned work in a timely manner while achieving high quality results Safely operate a variety of manual and powered equipment and vehicles Understand and carry out oral and written directions under general supervision Work efficiently, independently or in a team capacity Build and maintain cooperative, healthy and positives working relationships with staff and volunteers while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population, work effectively in and around the public within large and small group ministry and event settings Proper use, handling and disposal of a wide range of chemicals according to state and federal regulations Handling and disposal of blood borne pathogens with care Lawn care and snow removal equipment and techniques High school graduate One year of custodial experience in a school setting is preferred. General experience with electricity, plumbing and building equipment is a plus   Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Current First Aid, CPR, AED and Blood Borne Pathogen certification preferred Perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Work under inclement weather conditions (i.e. snow removal). Possess some general mechanical aptitude or demonstrate a willingness to learn new technical skills Employment Information This position is part time, hourly and classified as non-exempt 24 Hours/Week (nights and weekends - specific scheduling of hours defined by supervisor) Salary – dependent on experience, skills & education Benefits Package Paid Time Off (PTO) – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible to earn PTO.  PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis.  Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.  Holidays – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible for holiday pay if the holiday falls on their normal scheduled workday. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details. 403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan is the first of the month following date of hire. On an employee's first anniversary, Elmbrook will start making matching contributions. Reporting Structure The Facilities Specialist PT will be accountable and report directly to the Facilities Director of Elmbrook Church.
