Ring & DuChateau (R&D) is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Utility Design Engineer to join our Utility and Energy team. This is an opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to take a lead role in utility infrastructure projects while working directly with clients and collaborating with engineers and design professionals across the firm.

In this role, you will:
- Lead civil engineering design for site development and redevelopment projects across a variety of markets, including energy and utilities, higher education, healthcare, science and technology, commercial, hospitality, and public facilities.
- Develop comprehensive civil engineering designs, including plans and specifications, utility system layouts and analysis, site grading, erosion control plans, and other site-related improvements.
- Lead and support utility infrastructure projects involving wastewater, sewer, water supply, and water main systems.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, design professionals, permitting specialists, clients, and other project team members to successfully deliver projects.
- Manage projects from initial scope and proposal through design, bidding, and construction administration.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, construction plans, specifications, and bidding documents.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying needs and supporting successful project outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams.
- Support proposal development and other business development efforts within the Utility and Energy practice.
You will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- At minimum of 8 years of relevant civil and utility design engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Significant experience designing and/or managing public and private utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong civil/municipal engineering experience, including site improvements, streets, drainage, water, sewer, and other utility systems.
- Experience with project management, design, construction administration, scheduling, cost estimating, plans, specifications, and bidding documents.
- Experience preparing project proposals and managing client relationships.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally for client meetings, team meetings, site visits, inspections, and other project needs.
