We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Ronkonkoma, NY headquarters.
About the Role
You will keep our day-to-day financial records accurate and current — recording and categorizing transactions, managing the full AP/AR cycle, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and supporting monthly reporting. You will work closely with our accounting team and take a proactive approach to spotting and resolving discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
•   Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice and credit processing, vendor payments (check/ACH), and customer portal submissions.
•   Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks and complete the posting process.
•   Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies; apply wire and check payments accurately.
•   Process and reconcile credit card transactions.
•   Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, comparing bank information to company records.
•   Assist with intercompany transactions and ensure proper documentation.
•   Prepare account analyses and resolve financial discrepancies on a monthly basis.
•   Maintain organized digital and paper financial records in compliance with company standards.
•   Support the preparation of scheduled financial reports.
•   Assist with tax-related documentation and perform additional accounting tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
•   Associate degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
•   Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting or a related field.
•   3–5 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
•   Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (required); familiarity with inventory/build processes is a strong plus.Â
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
•   Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
•   Analytical skills to identify errors and discrepancies; high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
•   Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with accounting team members and vendors.
•   Strong work ethic, initiative, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
•   Ability to adapt and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
•   Discretion and confidentiality in handling financial information.
