We are seeking an experienced Lead Hotel Maintenance Technician who takes pride in maintaining a safe, reliable, and guest-ready hotel environment while providing hands-on technical support and day-to-day guidance to the Maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Daily Maintenance Operations

  • Coordinate daily maintenance priorities, work requests, preventive maintenance activities, and urgent repairs throughout the hotel.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to Maintenance Technicians and help ensure assigned work is completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards.
  • Maintain guestrooms in optimal operating condition by completing repairs and following the room preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back-of-house areas, the pool, hotel grounds, and exterior areas.
  • Prepare tools, materials, and preventive maintenance equipment needed for daily assignments and special projects.
  • Follow up on completed repairs and communicate unresolved or significant maintenance concerns to hotel leadership.

Maintain Building Systems and Equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fixtures, televisions, phones, clock radios, windows, mirrors, furniture, and related guestroom components.
  • Perform repairs involving carpet, marble, tile, paint, wall finishes, hardware, and other building finishes as needed.
  • Repair and maintain kitchen, laundry, housekeeping, and other operating equipment within the scope of the position.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and corrective repairs to help maintain equipment in safe and reliable working condition.
  • Support routine pool operations when assigned and when required certifications are maintained.

Drive Preventive Maintenance and Readiness

  • Support consistent execution of the hotel preventive maintenance program across guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior areas.
  • Identify maintenance conditions that could affect guest comfort, room availability, safety, security, or hotel operations and take timely corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate communication regarding repair status, equipment needs, recurring issues, and materials required to complete assigned work.
  • Use purchase orders and established ordering processes to support appropriate materials, parts, and maintenance supplies.
  • Attend required training, schools, or seminars to remain current on proper maintenance techniques, systems, and safe work practices.

Lead Safety and Operational Excellence

  • Use power tools, hand tools, equipment, and maintenance materials safely and efficiently and promote safe work practices within the department.
  • Maintain familiarity with hotel safety systems, emergency procedures, OSHA requirements, and security expectations.
  • Report hazards, injuries, unsafe conditions, or operating problems promptly and take immediate corrective action when appropriate.
  • Handle master keys in accordance with Company standards and established hotel security procedures.
  • Support hotel fire and emergency preparedness activities, including participation in the hotel fire team as assigned.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and protect hotel tools, equipment, materials, and assets.

Collaborate Across the Hotel

  • Respond professionally and promptly to maintenance requests from guests, associates, and hotel leadership.
  • Maintain open communication with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food and Beverage, Security, and other departments regarding maintenance priorities and operating conditions.
  • Communicate pertinent information through meetings, logs, work-order systems, radios, and other established communication channels.
  • Provide support to other departments during emergencies and perform other maintenance assignments as directed by leadership.

What You Bring

  • One to five years of maintenance experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school education or degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, with HVAC knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and complete repairs across multiple areas of a hotel.
  • Knowledge of purchase orders, materials ordering, maintenance records, and basic utility or equipment documentation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • A clean driving record and the ability to obtain or maintain required governmental licenses, certificates, or permits.
  • The ability to maintain required safety or job-related credentials.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing operational needs, emergencies, and hotel business demands.

Preferred

  • Technical school degree or formal training in a maintenance-related trade.
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance, including guestrooms, public areas, kitchen/laundry equipment, and building systems.
  • CPO certification when assigned responsibility for routine pool operations.

 

Physical and Work Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, squat, stretch, climb, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Regularly lift up to 20 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Work indoors and outdoors and in temperature extremes, including environments such as freezers and boiler rooms.
  • Work around noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, oils, dust, fumes, poor ventilation, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.
  • Maintain the manual dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, and mobility required to safely operate tools and equipment and move throughout the hotel.
