Tax Manager – Strategic Tax Advisor (Full-Time)

Location: Within commuting distance of Atlanta
Compensation: Starting at $160,000-$180,000 base + bonus
Benefits: 401(k) + match, health, dental, vision, PTO

About the Role

This is not a traditional tax manager position. This is a role for a high‑performing tax professional who wants to evolve from compliance work into elite, strategy‑driven advisory.

You’ll work directly with entrepreneurs and business owners to design and implement advanced tax reduction strategies that materially change their financial trajectory. Your work will directly influence clients’ ability to grow, invest, and build long‑term wealth.

If you’re hungry, disciplined, and obsessed with learning the tax code at a deeper level, you’ll thrive here.

What You’ll Do

  • Coach clients on tax deduction strategies and foundational tax reduction frameworks
  • Advise on advanced strategies, investments, and key financial decisions
  • Build tax projection models and quantify the impact of strategic moves
  • Guide clients through implementing and maintaining compliant tax strategies
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure accurate reporting and proper elections
  • Lead client meetings and maintain proactive, high‑touch communication
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training
  • Occasionally assist with tax return review as needed
Key Performance Objectives

1. Master Advanced Tax Advisory (First 90 Days)

Transition from a compliance‑focused role into a strategic advisor.
You’ll take ownership of 5–7 high‑value clients, participate in strategy meetings, and independently build projection models identifying at least $250,000 in potential annual savings across your portfolio.
Client satisfaction target: 90%+ based on proactive communication and actionable guidance.

2. Drive Measurable Client Tax Savings (By Month 6)

Lead the implementation of both foundational and advanced strategies, resulting in an average 15–20% reduction in client tax liability compared to prior years.
You’ll ensure strategies are executed flawlessly and clients remain fully compliant.

3. Develop & Coach Team Members (First Year)

Dedicate ~10% of your time to mentoring junior staff.
Lead at least two internal training sessions on specialized tax topics and help standardize best practices across the advisory team.

Who You Are
You’re not average — and you’re not looking for a job where you just “file returns.”
You are:
  • Hungry, gritty, and growth‑minded
  • Obsessed with learning and mastering the tax code
  • Disciplined, coachable, and accountable
  • Someone who follows instructions, meets deadlines, and communicates clearly
