VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
(Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities /Supported Employment) (Part-Time)
CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK The primary responsibilities include the preparation of daily living/work activities and other duties providing for a smooth work training environment for developmentally disabled adults.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains documentation as evidence that all duties are completed in accordance with program requirements contained in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
- Maintains proper training, continuing education, qualifications, and other certifications required for this position as written in the Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
- Represents Region 8 and Region 8 Administration in a positive manner at all times both internally and externally.Â
- Always leads by example and is a positive role model for coworkers.Â
- Provides supervision, training, instruction and assistance to consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a daily basis in areas of living skills, pre-vocational skills and work training.
- Inspects, inventories and maintains equipment and supplies used in assigned areas.
- Makes estimates of time and materials required for assigned work area.
- Transports consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from the center to home and planned activities as needed.
- Performs routine paperwork and documentation as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have a valid MS Driver’s license.
