The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting specimens and completing laboratory procedures within established guidelines following laboratory techniques.
- Collects blood and urine specimens using knowledge of laboratory techniques
- Ensures correct patient identification and appropriate labeling of specimens
- Performs EKG tests
- Performs nasal swabs for COVID and influenza
- Performs quality controls on new and stock supplies per manufacturer
- Possesses outstanding professional and positive customer service skills, able to put patient at ease and appropriately explain procedures
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
- Knowledgeable of and perform safe infection control practices including good hand hygiene, standard precautions, cleaning equipment and the environment
- Must have excellent problem solving and follow-up skills
- Experience with healthcare computer information systems
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology
- Must be highly organized, efficient, and multifunctional, work independently and within a team
- Demonstrates forward thinking approach, continually looking for ways to improve processes, tools and resources to best serve the healthcare team and clients
- Ability to manage challenging situations in providing services to patients and families
What Makes You a Great Fit
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year phlebotomy experience and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program required
Compensation Range: $18-$26
