Job Title Field Service Support Engineer

General Role Description
Provide warranty engineering, including technical and parts support, for the Company’s technical services
Role Accountabilities
-Â Evaluate and process warranty requests, replacements, and claims, expediting as necessary
-Â Provide technical guidance and lead problem-solving efforts with clients, engineers, and suppliers to resolve on-site issues
-Â Identify and report hardware, software, or system design deficiencies, implementing corrective actions from Field Change Notices
-Â Track monthly warranty costs for assigned business unit and report to manager
-Â Prepare and issue Service Advices for trouble shooting to clients and technical services field engineers
-Â Maintain current safety qualifications and comply with company and client safety requirements
-Â Resolve supplier product failures in a timely and cost- effective manner
-Â Respond to client issues outside of standard business hours when necessary
-Â Investigate suggested field changes, report problems, and recommend solutions to immediate manager, BU management, and the parent company, as applicable

Minimum Qualifications
-Â Â Bachelor of science in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field or equivalent via education and/or work experience
-  3 years’ experience in field engineering, client support, development, or testing of photovoltaic inverters in field or laboratory environments
-Â Â Demonstrated knowledge of power conversion and distribution transformers
-Â Â Demonstrated presentation skills
-Â Â Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
-Â Â Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
-Â Â Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
-Â Â Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
-Â Â Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 15%, sometimes with limited notice
Preferred Qualifications
-Â Master of science in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field
-Â Proficiency in Japanese and English languages, both oral and written
-Â Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards
-Â Demonstrated experience in photovoltaic inverter power generation
